More Summer Stuff

We have been taking it pretty easy
around here.  In summers past we
have made a huge bucket list
for the summer and worked hard
trying to mark everything off.
Last summer was no different.
Only we didn't get around to
marking too much off the list.
And in my opinion ~ it was our
best summer ever!  Quality time
at home doing a few creative
projects with an occasional
adventurous outing.

One of our projects were these
art journals.  The boys love
doing these!  We do a different
topic whenever we work on them.

And swimming...
Lots and Lots of swimming!

And playing with the gopro in the pool.
Little boys (and big boys)
LOVE doing this!

Cody and I have this thing that
we always do...
we wait until the brothers are busy
doing something and then we sneak
our suits on and sneak out to swim.
I don't know why we started doing
it, but it drives the other boys crazy
when they finally find us.
So of course we keep doing it.

Ry wakes me up
Every!Single!Morning!
There is no sleeping in with him.

We picked the first few things
from our garden.
Radishes!
They probably could have went a little
bit longer but I needed the garden space
for my over growing tomato plants!

The boys took the littles on a walk
today.  A long and very hot walk.
When my princess came back
I thought she might be dying!
It took her awhile to recover.

Our first tomato and pepper!
So yummy!
And the fighting has already begun
on who gets to help me pick
all of our garden goodies.

I bought a bunch of glow sticks
and we went for a glo stick swim
the other night.  It was a lot of fun.
We will be doing this again!

Happy Lucky Number 57

My dad celebrated his 57th birthday
this week.  We had him over
for some fried chicken and cake
to help him celebrate.  The grandkids
even helped make him a sign.

I love how it turned out!
His grandkids are his whole world!
So I knew he would love it.

I made the peanut butter cake
from scratch.  It was yummy
but didn't turn out anything like
the picture on pinterest.
Oh well ~ it didn't stop everyone
from scarfing it down.

Garden Update ~ 6 weeks

6 week garden update!

We added a few tomato cages.
I think these plants are growing bigger
mine did last year.  I am hoping they
will not be too crowded in there.

Look at these radishes!
I started these from seed and I can't
believe how quick these
things have grown.

My tomatillo plant looks
amazing!

I have these two sprouts
and I am not real sure what
they are.  I know it's either cabbage
or lettuce.  I guess time will tell.

My marigolds from my seeds
that I saved last year are doing
great too.

Our first pepper.
The tag with this plant says
it should be a red bell pepper.
I don't think so.
I think some little boy mixed up the
tags when we planted them.

I went in and planted even
more carrot seeds in any spare
space I could find.
They are all stating to grow in now.
The carrots were probably my
favorite thing from our garden
last year.  I want lots!

Random

We could spend all of our time
on the porch!

Garden is ready for
tomato cages!

KC performed an arching demo
for the last scout meeting.

He helped most of the boys
earn their Electricity merit badge.
They loved it.  A group of boys
watching things burn and catch on
fire.  Of course they loved it!

I love this poem!
Love Love Love
I knew I had to make a sign
of it for our house.

Oh these cute cuties!
I miss them so much
I think a trip to Austin needs
to be made sooner rather
than later!

She loves all the

Part 2 - Memorial Day Weekend

Some weekend riding
at Lake Mackenzie.
Sunday was finally a day
filled with warm weather
and sunshine!

Kade and Ry didn't want to
come this time so Cody brought
a friend.

It was a little muddy.
Just a little.
We had to pull the wench
out more than once.

Once we got going up top it
was good riding.

We finally found the little
watering hole waterfall Brent was
dying to jump into.  The boys loved
it!  A little cold but very refreshing.
It was about a ten foot jump and
then the water was about seven
feet deep.  I don't know how many
times they jumped.  It could have
lasted hours!

Cody did great.
I was so nervous for him.

Such a beautiful day.

Rylee snuck around the block and
stole ~ I mean picked a different
flower from all the gardens around
here.  I couldn't believe he did that.
 I secretly loved it!

I spy a Ladybug!

Putting up the pool!
Hard work = devastation
for Rylee!

I thought I was going to get
away with sitting back and sipping
my water.  That didn't last long though.

I can't wait for all the warm
summer days and cookouts
and hanging out!
We are so ready for summer!
