Halloween

The weenie girls loved
the pumpkin guts.

It's hard work
carving pumpkins!

This year we had an Iron Man
and a Grim Reaper.
Why Rylee picked the Grim Reaper
I have no idea.  He ALWAYS
goes for the dark side.

Red River

For our "Just the Two of Us"
trip this year, we hit the road
and headed to Red River!
We LOVE the mountains
and try to go often.

This was the first time that
we took our own camper.
We were a little nervous about
the drive, but everything went
great!  The drive was so
beautiful!  The trees were
so amazing!  Lots of bright
fall colors.

We loved our campsite!
It sat right by the river.
We would open up the end
window in our kitchen and
listen to it running.
We even had a family of
ducks that we fed every morning.

We were going to Red River
just to go, but we also figured out
that they were doing an
Oktober Fest.  We had never been
to one, so we were really excited!

The food was AMAZING!
KC could not wait to try these
bratwurst with homemade sauerkraut.
They were so good!  {and HUGE}
We split this one.  :)  We were not
fans of the German Potato Salad though.

Some of the beer they had for you
to try out was kinda interesting.
They had one wine tent.
That's where we spent most
of our time.  ;)

That night they did a pub crawl.
It was a mustache theme.

You started at one restaurant and
made your way to about 8
different ones.

  Each one was
featuring different beer.
Yeah, we only lasted 3 stops.

The next morning KC just
had to have a bratwurst dot
for breakfast.  :)

Then we headed out to do some
riding!  The trails were so beautiful!!!

The weather was perfect!
It was an amazing day to ride!

We found lots of caves and old
mines.  They were CREEPY!
So deep that you couldn't even see
to the end.  And PITCH BLACK!

KC tried to talk me into
going in there and exploring ---
I don't think so!

The trail we took was a pretty long trail.
It took us an hour and a half
to get up and then an hour and
a half to ride back down.
We had a nice little pic-nic
lunch.  The view was so gorgeous!

 My hubby makes the best
pasta with shrimp!

And we enjoyed it by the river and
the fire.  So Peaceful!

We also did some fishing.

While we were sitting there
we were visited by this little chipmunk.
He stayed with us the whole time.
KC kept feeding him almonds.
He was very cute.

KC went off somewhere to try to fish
a different spot because we weren't
catching anything.  He came back
with this on his line.  He swears
that he caught it, but it looked
dead to me.  When he threw it
back it didn't even swim away.  LOL

We had a great week in the
wonderful mountains!
--but we were excited to see
our boys when we got back home.
