Thanksgiving Weekend

I love Thanksgiving!
I love planning it all out
I love cooking all the food
and I really love the long
weekend that comes with it

I made my own pumpkin pie from
scratch this year.  Pumpkin Pie is
my Thanksgiving favorite

We got up early and these two handsome
boys made everyone omelets.

This girl slept in.
She's lazy.

We headed to Granny's this year for
our Thanksgiving meal.
It was of course delicious!

Copper didn't want to be in the
family photo.

We headed to dads to have a good
game night.

It was Rylee and Cody's turn
for the wishbone ~ Ry won!

We snuck out to get two things
from the Black Friday craziness.
We took Cody along so he
could see what it was all about.

Then it was back to games.

Thanksgiving weekend also brought
a big ice storm!

new Christmas sweaters for
the pups.  They look so cute!!

My snookem had to work LOTS of
call outs because of the ice storm.
I knew he would want a nice
warm chili dinner when he got home.

Copper is so happy the tree is back up.
He loves laying by it and just staring
at all the lights.

and monsty just wants all my snuggles.
even when I'm trying to get things done.
I love him

Catch up

I feel like we have been going non stop once again.
I am so looking forward to our Thanksgiving break.
KC will be off and the boys will all be home!
For 5 straight days!  I am excited and so ready!!

The boys and KC walked in the Veterans Day Parade last Saturday.

lots of scouts showed up to show support for our Veterans

we had a couple of hard mornings so to get out of the rut...

I woke the boys up early and we headed to The Donut Stop.
All sprinkled donuts - the boys favorite!
(and two blueberry cake for me - my favorite)
Donuts make everything better!

I have finished ALL my Christmas shopping!
Every last bit.  I hate shopping and I am not too fond of
big crowds either.  Early is better for me.  And to knock
it all out in one afternoon... perfect!
When KC said lets do it - I didn't argue!

My favorite part is bringing them all home and wrapping them up.

and then this happened...
His little sidebar mustache needed to go!

the pups got new chew toys
I couldn't wait until Christmas

Codys 11th Birthday

What 11 year old asks for a Kayak for his birthday??
Cody has been wanting one for a while now.
I wasn't about to send him rafting down some river by himself
so we bought one for KC too.  The weather was supposed to be
perfect that weekend so we gave them to him a couple days before
his actual birthday so he could enjoy them a bit.

We loaded up and headed to the river so he could try them out.
We dropped them off at the river and we headed down stream to
wait for them.

The pups ran
we played tic tac toe
we hiked
we through sticks in the river
we rode around in the razor
we sat
we got bored

It seemed like it was taking them forever to get down the river to us.

(this boy cheats at tic tac toe by the way!)

They ended up riding about 5 miles down the river.

and they loved every minute of it!

When they were done we loaded everyone up and headed back up river.
That would be 2 adults. 3 kids. 4 dogs. 2 kayaks. all in one razor.
Hey, It worked!

We let Rylee and Kade try it with Cody for a much shorter distance.

We picked Cody up early from school and took him to lunch.
Buffalo Wild Wings - the hotter the wings the better for Cody.
Which I don't get because he can't even handle pepper on his eggs.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do for Cody's cake this year.
I searched around town and the cheapest place I could find
that actually looked decent was for 78 bucks.  For 12 cupcakes!
She let some of their secrets slip so I thought I would save my
70 bucks and make it myself.

I knew he would love it!

Isn't it so cute!
I loved the way it turned out!

He picked to have fajitas and chips and queso.
