Red River Spring Break ~ Heading Home

That camper there in front
of me on this road can
only mean one thing...

We are heading home :(

We stopped at our little
roadside river stop
coming out of the mountains.

Running out our energy
and enjoying the last bit
of beautiful scenery before
we return to the flat
plains of Texas.

We had a great week!
It really is our most
favorite place to be.
We have already booked
3 more trips for this year.
One being 2 whole straight
weeks in the summer!
We just can't stay away.

Red River Spring Break ~ Our Last Day

Our last day in Red River...
It's a sad sad day!

It was Kade's turn to pick
where we eat.  He went last
because he had a hard time
narrowing it down.
And it just so happened that
he wanted a picnic up in
the mountains.  AND it just
so happened that when his day
was here it snowed THE WHOLE
night before!

BUT we picked up breakfast
from our favorite breakfast spot
and headed out.  Going up
the mountains after all
the snow was not going
to happen.  So we settled for
a little park nestled in
all the trees.

It Was COLD!

But soooo gorgeous!
Oh yeah ~ and it was
the first day of Spring!

Hmmmm...
Not looking much like spring.

We headed to do some
sledding once the sun came out.
That hill was no joke!
The boys were exhausted
by the time they made it up.

Rylee went down once
and was done.
Too much climbing
for it to be worth it
to him.

This is how Kade
prefers to sled.

And Dad and Ry
decided to have a snow ball fight.

and then Kade started getting
mouthy!  So his Dad had to
put him in his place.

and he got mouthy to me!
STILL!
So I had to tackle him and
shove his face in the snow!

and somehow he lost
his shoe???

We of course couldn't
leave town without
visiting the Candy Crate.

Someone is sad about
all the fresh powder
and him not being
able to ski it.

New heart rocks
for my container.

Red River Spring Break ~ Day 6

Woke up to a beautifully
foggy cloudy chilly day.

We headed to the park
to let the dogs run loose.

He looks sweet and innocent
but when he gets cooped
up in the camper he gets crazy!

She climbs mountains
and dashes through the snow
AND rock climbs!
Who knew!?!

You can't slow Monsty
down.  He runs crazy when
you let him run free.

Cops even played on the
playground with the boys.

We headed back to the camper
for an afternoon nap right
as the rain started to fall.
By the time we woke up
it had changed to snow.
Lots and Lots of snow.

Already several inches in
just a few hours.

I made the boys dinner
and started them a movie.
We left Copper to
babysit and KC and I
headed out for a date night!
What!??!

KC took me to show me
some of the lifts and ski
trails on the way to dinner.
We spotted lots of deer.

We ate at our favorite
steak house.  So yummy!

They still had the Christmas lights
on at the park.  It was so pretty
with all the snow still falling.

It was a great date night.
Tomorrow will be our last
day here.  We will enjoy
every minute of it.

Red River Spring Break ~ Day 5

Last Day on the slopes
for these guys and they
are not happy about it.
