Red River Spring Break ~ Day 1

We decided to go somewhere
this year for Spring Break.
I wanted to go to San Francisco!
BUT I got out voted.
All the boys wanted to go
to Red River and go skiing.
Really it wasn't that big of
a disappointment for me.
I do LOVE Red River!

The plan was to head out
Saturday morning.  Well about 9:00
Friday night we were done loading up
and just sitting around and the boys
were trying to talk us into
leaving right then instead.
So KC and I looked at each other
and said Let's Do It!
By 9:12pm Friday night
we were pulling out of our
driveway!  We drove about half
way and stayed at a little KOA
campground.  The boys were
fine with that because we
at least broke up some of the drive.

The sun rise that next morning was
GORGEOUS!

We stopped to take a pic
with this dino and were
off to finish the rest of our drive.

We actually went through our
favorite tiny Slush Puppy town
during the day!  We had to stop.

When we first get there
is always my favorite.
Just stopping to take it
all in.  It's so pretty.

We decided to just hang
out and take it easy.
I bought a bunch of new
board games and we mixed
in a few of our favorites.
Penny wasn't happy with
all the attention being on
the games and not her.

This Marvel Trivia
was no joke.  I thought my boys
would be pros at it as mush
as we watch superhero stuff.
Not the case.  These were old school
comic book trivia.  Hard Trivia.
We made it through one game
and that was enough.

My other favorite part about
coming here is that the boys
get to get out and use their
creativity.  They make up their
own games and explore.
I will miss that when they
get older.  I took the electronics
away and it's funny how after
the first day, I never even hear
a word about them.  And never
once do I hear "I'm bored".
It's so nice!

We took the dogs to run
at a little spot close to our
campsite.  Cops likes taking
 breaks and eating snowballs.

All 3 of them love to go
up and down the mountains.
Even our little weenie girl.
She might have to take a
different route because she
can't get over the big logs
sometimes, but it doesn't slow
her down.

Cops brought his stick
home with him.  He wasn't
leaving without it!

This game is called Last Word.
It's one of the new ones I bought.
It gets crazy ~ We love it!

It was a great first day.
I am so glad we left Friday
night.  Made our day much
longer that way.
