Gingerbread Houses

Working with my shadow.

I usually buy house kits for

gingerbread houses the day after

Christmas and save them for the

next year to save some money.

BUT last year I didn't. 

 

So, we made our own.

They actually turned out pretty great!

This is the 4th year running for

us to do gingerbread houses with

Brent and Kristen.  It's one of

the boys favorite holiday

traditions.

 

Heidi was keeping an eye

on all the dropped candy.

 

Still after 4 years there is

no system here!

 

It just works.

It's a mess, but it works.

Rylee made the Wizard of Oz

house.  Even has a gingerbread girl

witch with ruby red slippers

under it.  It was so cute!

 

Kade's was...

hmmmmmmmm...

 

I'm not really sure.

Maybe you could say it was

just a mess!  He caked it with

icing because he squeezed the icing

bag so hard it exploded all over it

AND he broke one side of the

house off.  It wasn't pretty.

 

But we all had a good time

and that's what matters!
