My Birthday

My Birthday!
it didn't exactly go as I had planned this year,
but I guess I'll take what I can get.

I found this when I woke up.
4 sticks of strawberry Laffy Taffy from Cody.
He knows the way to my heart!

Kade bought me this donut when we stopped for gas on the way to school.

Sprinkles!

Catch Up Time

last round of garden goodness!
I left the peppers on so long
that they started turning red.
I will miss our yummy tomatoes.

my baby surprised me with a
cherry Halloween sprinkle donut
the other morning.
and coffee!  always coffee!

On the weekends when the weather
is chilly, Cody makes me coffee and
then goes out and starts us a fire.
We sit out and sip our drinks and chat.
I love it!

The boys happened to see an episode
of Bob Ross on pbs.  They were entranced
by how good he could paint and how
easy it looked.  We recorded a few shows
and one Saturday afternoon we gave it a shot.

They loved it and their paintings
turned out so great!  I am so glad that they
have artistic interests just like me!

My Snookem started his new job!
We have hoped and prayed and wished
and waited and everything else in between
for this job. No more week after week of
being out of town and only seeing him on
the weekends. After 7 long years we've (I've)
had enough of that!! He has paid his dues
and worked hard to get this job. I am sooo
proud of him! He didn't have the best of
childhoods and he sometimes tells me a
new crazy story even now after
being married almost 13 years.
Some of which are so out there I didn't
really even believe him. A few months ago
I had the pleasure of spending a whole
week getting to know his childhood
best friend ~ he confirmed EVERYTHING
and more of anything KC has ever
told me. And without me mentioning it first!
A lot of those stories were heartbreaking
and made me really appreciate the person
he is today! He has never let any
of that be an excuse! If anything it pushes
him harder. While no one is perfect, he's perfect
to us and we are so happy he's ours!
Congratulations babe! I love you and
I am so very proud of you!

We have been very busy with the
butterfly!  Like VERY busy!
I love it and hate it all at the same
time.  There just are not enough
hours in the day.  I am hoping with
KC's new job things will change a bit.

KC will have a four day weekend
every other weekend!  Yes!!
Boys at school all day and KC home..
that will give us at least a full day of
working on butterfly stuff!  Yay!
I am sure he is so excited!

Kade got some carpenter lessons
the other day.  Hey, it's a family business.

The boys spent scout night at the
news station the other night
for their weather and communication
merit badges.

They had a good time.

The time change means it's light out
in the morning and we can play ball
again.  The dogs love it!

Happy Halloween

Rylee and his friends went to
their first Halloween haunted
houses this year.

I was worried, but KC said they all
did really great.  There was even an
Insane Asylum one that figured out
Rylee's name so they called him and
said it throughout the whole thing.
He said it was so creepy.

Cody got a new Halloween shirt!
It was Abe Kruger and I couldn't resist.
I knew he would love it!

It's a very delicate process to
pick out just the right pumpkin.

and carving is very serious
business around here.

Ry had the great idea to have
his pumpkin eating a baby pumpkin.
It turned out so good!

Aren't they cute!

We roasted our pumpkin seeds
this year for the first time.
Delicious!

and then it was time for zombies

Kade kept messing with his scars
so they weren't sticking very good
by picture time.  :(
but he still looks creepy

and we also had a vampirate

Don't they look so good!?!

Cody is such a ham!
I love him!

My boys are growing up.
Very sad sad sad for this mom!

Halloween is always so crazy for us.
We get ready and head to all the
grandparents houses in a quick hurry
to make it back so we can Trick or Treat
at dark.  It's rush rush rush and takes
a lot time.  But I know it's important
to do so we do it every year.
For the last few years I have dreamed
of the year I get to just stay home
and pass out candy while the boys
go and do their own thing.
I missed last Halloween because
I was with my sister at dr appointments
in Arizona.  And then this year Rylee
decides to ditch me and go Trick or Treating
with his friends.  I was devastated!
My first baby to leave me on a major
holiday event.  Not doing it as
a family this year just wasn't the same.
I know this is only the beginning of
lots of change as all the boys
are getting older.
I hate it!

Sorting the candy.
We kinda got to a late
start this year, so the bounty
wasn't as great.
