How about a trip to Arizona!?!

So I got a call from Tab Monday
asking me to go to Arizona for
some doctor appointments with her.

There were a few catches...
We had to leave by 3 that day...
We didn't know how long we would be gone...
And it's a 12 hour drive!

2 hours to pack. situate the boys. get everything
ready for KC to take over for the week.
Why not?!?  Lets Do It!?!

The sky was gorgeous that night!
We had a long drive ahead of us.
We stopped about half way for the night.
Breaking up the drive made it
so much better.

We headed out early the next morning
and arrived early enough before
her appointments to check out our
hotel.  It was really more of a
spa resort.

It sat on a golf course
with tons of trees and cactus
and plants and it was just so pretty!
The rooms were little adobe Indian
type villas.  The whole place was so
calm and quiet.  It was just very peaceful.

After the doc,
we went and explored the town
a bit.  The clinic was in
Fountain Hills, Arizona.

They had this strip of restaurants
and this huge gorgeous park.
We sat on the patio of an Italian
restaurant and drank some wine
and had the most delicious Italian food.
We had a perfect view of their famous
fountain.  It goes off every hour for
15 minutes and it shoots up 500 ft high.
It is beautiful!!

I saw this Abe Lincoln statue
and knew Cody would die!
He is in love with most all things
history.  Abe is his favorite!

The second day -
I had a full morning of waiting.
and my very first pumpkin spice latte!

I had to get out and stretch
my legs for a bit!
They had a nature trail
along the hospital.

It doesn't have to be
all about dr visits
and waiting around.

Our villa was even more amazing
at night.  The sun would sink below
the mountains and make a
gorgeous glow across everything.

The patio was perfect
for sipping more wine
and having some long talks!

Some one snuck out early in
the morning and finished off our
chocolate cake from the night before.
Tab!

We took a different route back
home.  You know I love the mountains!
So we stopped by Ruidoso, NM.
Did a little shopping and then
got back on the road for more driving.

I got to get some Christmas shopping done.
We ate great food.
We explored a gorgeous city.
We had a LOT of laughs.

I know we were there for doctor stuff
- BUT -
It really was a great trip!

We were both sooo ready to be
back home!  I told KC all I wanted
to do was watch some OSU football
in my own bed!
He got me my favorite lilies and lit
some candles for us to watch the game.
It was perfect!
I think maybe he missed
me just as much as I missed him.
